How many times do you hear the term, "Hockey IQ"?

There's countless examples across all levels of hockey, from the NHL to house leagues:

Players that can THINK smarter, better, and faster, are performing better and reaching higher and higher ceilings, often while having LESS skill and talent than other peers.

While physical skills and athleticism are important, it's often the players with high hockey IQ who make the biggest impact on the ice.

At the end of the day - hockey is a game, played by players. The final piece of the puzzle is to put all your skills together, outsmarting your opponents and working effectively with your teammates (and even with your coaches)!

During our Hockey IQ Video Session class, students will study and improve their:

Strategic Insight: Especially at younger ages, hockey players don't always understand much about hockey other than skating and shooting (and scoring lacrosse goals if they're really good)! By studying strategy and learning to read the game, players can make smarter decisions on the ice - so they can create opportunities for their team in any situation.
Decision-Making: Hockey is a fast-paced game that requires split-second decision-making. These decisions are 10 times easier for a young athlete to quickly make when they've prepared and studied them! By analyzing real-game scenarios and their outcomes, players can come prepared with the right plays, be more confident, and act decisevly on the ice.
Teamwork and Communication: Hockey IQ isn't just about individual skill—it's also about understanding your role within the team and communicating effectively with your teammates. We emphasize the importance of teamwork, teaching players how to support each other, communicate on the ice, and work together to achieve their goals.
Adaptability: A key trait of all the most successful players is consistency - being able to adapt to different situations and opponents. Our video sessions explore various different strategies and tactics, helping players develop a broad knowledge base and multiple different tools to adjust their game based on the circumstances.

So regardless of your dreams as a player - whether you want to score 100 goals, 500 assists, have a +10 rating every game, or simply be the player everybody wants on their team, you'll have to do it with your greatest hockey asset - your thinking!
